…Emerges National Champion in State Dynamics, Produces National Publicity Secretary, Caps Historic Conference with Multiple Victories
What began as an impressive outing has now matured into one of the greatest success stories in the history of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), Akwa Ibom State Branch.
At the just-concluded 45th Annual National Scientific Conference of ACPN in Abuja, Team Akwa Ibom not only sustained the momentum of its earlier victories but concluded the conference with an unprecedented haul of honours that firmly established the Branch as one of the leading forces in community pharmacy practice in Nigeria.
The crowning moment came when ACPN Akwa Ibom was officially declared the Best Performing State in Nigeria for 2026, a prestigious recognition of the Branch’s outstanding leadership, innovation, professional excellence and impactful programmes under the administration of Pharm. Donatus Adigom.
The celebrations gathered even greater momentum as Team Akwa Ibom also emerged First Position in the National State Dynamics Competition, further affirming the Branch’s unity, visibility, organisational strength and active participation throughout the conference.
In another landmark achievement, the immediate past Chairman of the Branch, Pharm. Tony Anderson, was formally sworn in as the National Publicity Secretary of ACPN, earning Akwa Ibom a strategic voice within the Association’s national leadership. His emergence is widely seen as a recognition of his years of commitment to professional advocacy, organisational development and effective communication within the pharmacy profession.
These latest victories perfectly complement the remarkable achievements earlier recorded by the Branch during the conference, including the publication and presentation of a research abstract in the Nigerian Journal of Community Pharmacy, emerging national champions of the Anti-Drug Abuse Competition (NADAC), producing Akwa Ibom’s first Community Pharmacist Specialist, and winning the Mrs. Wholeshield 2026 title.
Collectively, the accomplishments reflect a Branch that has deliberately embraced research, professionalism, innovation, youth engagement and purposeful leadership.
The exceptional performance also attracted glowing commendation from the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Akwa Ibom State Branch. In a congratulatory message, the State Chairman, Pharm. Nsikak Effiong, described the achievements as a shared victory for the entire pharmacy family in Akwa Ibom, while applauding the visionary leadership of Pharm. Donatus Adigom and congratulating Pharm. Tony Anderson on his emergence as National Publicity Secretary.
