The recently concluded ACPN National Conference has left Akwa Ibom State with much to celebrate. Beyond the awards, recognitions, and leadership transitions, the conference provided a powerful reminder of what unity, commitment, and collective effort can achieve.
For Pharm. Tony Anderson, who emerged as the National Publicity Secretary of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), the moment is as much about responsibility as it is about achievement.
In his appreciation message following his emergence, Pharm. Anderson expressed deep gratitude to the members, delegates, colleagues, and friends who supported his aspiration to serve the Association at the national level.
Every message, telephone call, word of encouragement, prayer, and gesture of support, he noted, contributed to the journey.
But perhaps more importantly, he sees the achievement beyond himself.
His emergence, in his words, is not merely a personal elevation; it is “a milestone for Akwa Ibom pharmacists.”

National Achievements
Team Akwa Ibom emerged winner of the National Anti-Drug Abuse Competition (NADAC), Tony Anderson Appreciation, taking home a cash prize of ₦500,000.
The State also secured first position in the State Dynamics competition.
Additionally, in one of the conference’s most significant recognitions, it was declared Best State Chapter for 2026.
These achievements are not isolated victories.
Moreover, Tony Anderson Appreciation recognizes the combined efforts of members, leadership, young pharmacists, organizers, competitors, supporters, and everyone who contributed.
They also reinforce a growing narrative about ACPN Akwa Ibom: that the State is increasingly becoming a strong and influential force within the national Association.
The Importance of Leadership Support
Behind every successful delegation is often a support system that does not receive enough attention.
The Adigom-led administration deserves commendation for providing transportation and accommodation for all Akwa Ibom delegates to the national conference.

By facilitating the participation of members, the administration helped create an environment in which Akwa Ibom could participate fully and compete effectively at the national level.

The awards may belong to this year’s conference, but the responsibility to build on them belongs to all of us.
For Akwa Ibom, the national conference has provided another reason to be proud.
